Timber!

It happened.

I went years and years before being an idiot enough to slip and fall on ice.  Luckily it was in my own driveway... unluckily I went down hard and to add insult to injury I hit myself on the car before hitting the ground.  Mia is sometimes really stubborn with her recent fear of the hall to the garage so sometimes I have to get her out the front door to put her into the car for daycare.  Last night it snowed, not much, but enough to coat the ground in a light fluffy snow covering anything underneath.  I knew there was ice, so I was very careful getting from the steps down the path and to the driveway with her.  I put her in the backseat and had to run around the back of the car to get to the other door in order to clip her in securely. I took about three steps while I quickly made my way around, and it happened so fast that it was like magic.  My arms and legs flailed all around, I hit my elbow on the trunk, and then belly flopped right on top of it landing flat on my face covering my entire front with snow.  I'm pretty sure that I screamed, but Abe didn't hear anything besides a loud thump and then he realized that I was missing.  By the time he put two and two together, I was already up and brushing myself off.

Oh the agony.  It was very painful, and for a split second I thought that I might have broken something but once the sting went away a few minutes later it was cool - just a major bump resulting in a bruise.  Stuff like this hardly ever happens to me, in fact, I'm the person that laughs at other people this sort of stuff happens to so it was my turn for sure!

The rest of my day went better until it was time to take the dog out after daycare.  I had her leash in my hand and then suddenly it just wasn't in my hand anymore... and girlfriend went sprinting across the yard at full speed in total darkness.  She tasted freedom and wanted more.  Mia ran around in a few crazy circles enjoying the snow and being off leash, and eventually she came right back to me to play.  Thank God she is such a playful dog, otherwise she'd be sending us postcards from Mexico!

It's only Tuesday, the rest of the week will surely be less chaotic...
