2011 was a huge year for us in all areas of life, but mostly the growing up part.
Vacations: Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Cruise (Costa Maya, Island of Roatan, Cozumel), Falmouth/Martha's Vineyard, Vegas with a special visit to Area 51
Big Decisions: Bought a car in June, Bought a house in August, rescued a dog in September, Bought a second car in December
Biggest Challenges: Hosted Thanksgiving (8 people) and Christmas (15 people), and moving... moving is always a massive project, but luckily this is the last time we have to do it for a long time.
My favorite part of the whole year is just how far we've come seemingly overnight. We used to be those city people who went out to bars on weekends (even at this age) and now we're total country mice who spend our money on things like Home Depot and doggie daycare. I'm finally starting to feel settled here and I really love where I am right now in life. Our jobs are going really well, and financially we're pretty sound although we do still play the lottery!
2012 should be another exciting year - I will be turning 30, we have a billion house projects on tap for the spring (some exterior siding, landscaping, hardwood flooring, painting, decorating, etc.), there might be another dog joining us (uncertain), a couple fun vacations are pending, and hopefully we can find a better life balance (we really need to go on more fun dates).
Also, I'm starting out 2012 with much darker hair. Goodbye halfway grown out highlights. Goodbye natural hair color... oh well, at least it's all 1 shade now.
