My new hair

Ok its not really new hair. I cut my hair like this all the time but I went a long time with really long hair and really long bangs. Most girls do a bob for their post wedding chop but I had a bob for half my life and let's just say that those were my ugly years! I need my hair past my shoulders and I need some kind of fringe. I'm so much happier now!

Pain in the neck

Oh to be a commuter in the city. Walk to the train station, get on the crowded T, get off and change lines and get on another train, and then get off and walk up to my office. It is a quite involved routine that I have. All along the way I'm carrying a giant bag on my right shoulder. It used to hold:
  • my lunch in tupperware
  • a water bottle
  • commuter style coffee
  • umbrella
  • my sneakers
  • gym clothes
  • lotion
  • my day planner
  • my wallet
  • phone
  • ipod
  • a book to read
  • face wash
  • snacks
I decided somewhere down the line that it was too much, and now it consists of:
  • water bottle
  • commuter coffee
  • wallet
  • book
  • little camera (for the blog)
  • umbrella
  • phone
  • and i carry a lunch tote on the other side
Well, I think that I've really F-ed up my body from this. My shoulder and neck and back are really killing me, not just when I'm holding my bag, I'm just in pain sitting here. Yeah sure it is something that always hurt, but my commute is longer now so i'm holding my bag more. I see hundreds of other women during the day with bags equal in size to mine and they are wearing heels while I'm just shuffling along in flip flops like an understyled semi-pro. How do they do it? I also see women carrying: a laptop bag, a giant handbag, and a gym bag all at once, it's honestly quite impressive. Maybe they have excellent chiropractors or doting husbands who massage their necks when they get home. What can I do? I don't want to have to buy my coffee or my lunch...tomorrow I'm going to take a smaller bag and see what happens, I can't carry on like this!

Shabu Zen

Oh the disappointment! Tonight me and my girlfriends had big plans to visit O Ya in the leather district of Boston for some high-end super-hyped sushi. We've had these standing plans for a month now, and when we got there...well it was booked solid. This is basically a reservation only place because it's very small, but we didn't have any because it's Tuesday night in the summer at 6pm... and we all suck a little, and they're booked for the next 2 weeks. So what did we do? The hostess suggested that we go to Ginza in Chinatown down the street if we were interested in sushi. We looked it up, and walked there with sushi on the brain, it's really all I could think about the whole walk over. I don't know where this restaurant went, but it was gone and Shabu Zen was in it's place so we figured that shabu didn't sound so bad. Hot shabu on a hot and humid 90 degree day in the city, yeah hey why not. The shabu was good, they have my favorite thai tom yum broth, but they didn't have taro which I really enjoy in my shabu. We got prime rib, chicken, tofu, veggies, and udon noodles. I would say that this shabu place was pretty darn good, and the prices were just about average for shabu which is in the area of $20/person. It wasn't as good as Kaze Shabu also in Chinatown (which is pretty awesome), but it was better than Shabu Square in Harvard Square which isn't as fab but it's local for me so I don't mind it. I just love a giant swimming pool full of soup, it is the most comforting food to me besides spaghetti and meatballs.

Strawberry Jam

Yes, I made these! I made 8 jars of strawberry jam. The berries are coming into season perfectly so I thought that I'd give it a whirl. My kitchen was a bit small for this project but It wasn't over complicated at all, just make sure you have a couple of deep pots before you begin.

The process wasn't very complex, but I tried to write it out and it became confusing. I used the Better Home and Gardens recipe seen Here, but basically all you need are: 2 quarts of berries, a packet of pectin, 7 cups of sugar, and mason jars. It was fun and inexpensive. The process comes out to be about $2.50 per jar. I really enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would and I hope to try another flavor next time around!

24 hours later...
I would like to take a moment to pat myself on the back. Tonight I had Brinner (breakfast for dinner), and I took my first taste of my jam and it was unbelievable. Seriously.

Banana Bread

This morning at 9:30am, I decided that that 4 bananas starting to attract fruit flies on my counter should be made into something nice like banana bread. I whipped out the cookbook and luckily I had all the ingredients and I got to work. If you don't know me, I should probably mention that I'm not very good at baking. In fact, I'm really bad. I either tend to follow directions to my own liking or I'm not exact enough with the ingredients or I can't figure out why something went wrong. Today, I was lucky... there was only one mishap:

The loaf pan overflowed even though I only filled it less than 3/4 full of the mixture. You're thinking: wow that was really smart of you to put it on a cookie sheet. That's what I did After I had to clean up the mess that was all over the bottom of the oven, but that was easy enough. Good thing I checked on it right when I did.

In the end I was able to get a loaf of banana bread that actually looked decent. The right shape, color, texture, moisture. Amazing!!

That is half of the loaf to give to a friend. Hopefully she likes banana bread.

Banana Bread by Better Homes and Gardens
2 cups flour (wheat for me)
1.5 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
2 beaten eggs
1.5 cups of mashed bananas (5 medium)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup of cooking oil or melted butter/margarine

1. preheat oven to 350. grease bottom of loaf pan.
2. combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon salt
3. in medium bowl combine eggs, bananas, sugar, and oil. Then add egg mixture all at once into the dry mixture, stir (batter will be lumpy).
4. bake for 55 to 60 minutes, put foil over the top during the last 15 minutes to stop browning. cool for 10 minutes, take out of pan and then cool on wire rack.
5. share with someone, it will make their day : ) because this is actually the best banana bread that I've ever tasted.

We didn't color coordinate

We went to another wedding yesterday. I wish that I could elaborate, but I just can't. But we did get Wendy's on the way home because everyone in the car was starving, and it's the first time all year that I've had fast food. It was Ok...you know edible anyways, and it did Not help me through my long run this morning. I'm pretty sure every muscle in my body was yelling: "You Fucking Ate Wendy's, Thanks!" It was not pleased.

Serious and Not Serious

My new passport with my brand new name has arrived today in the mail. My name transformation is almost complete. Now if I could only get my work to recognize the fact that I got married, then I'd be all set.

Also, I got to see our professional photos today from the wedding. I was worried that we'd look stupid because in our engagement photos...well we looked really stupid and uncomfortable. However, you can't fake true happiness and we were beaming that day. We don't normally look like that. In fact, I'm having a really hard time picking from the lot for our album. It's insanely hard because I want to remember everything through the photos since my memory is really really bad and everything was just so nice.

Have you all seen this: Dancing Wedding Entrance
I honestly didn't think that I'd find it so Freaking amusing but I really loved it. It is a bit rough at parts, but if you watch it all the way to the end you will not be disappointed. That wedding party was just so cute, and it was so nice of them to do that for the bride and groom. That was a gift in itself, I was very touched. I mean not that I would let my wedding party do that because my parents would totally not appreciate the hip hop feel, and I would never want to see myself dancing on film. Trainwrecks are only fun for other people.

Or the Hare??

It really does figure that the day after I blog about running so Effing slow I ran my fastest mile yet. 8:11, which is not actually fast but it beats the pants off of 9:13 which was my previous best according to Lance. However, running outdoors when it's 70 degrees and slightly rainy (like today was) is preferable to running in 80 degree and humid weather so of course I did better today (however I didn't look any more awesome). The second funny part about this boring story is that I had a cocktail before I ran. My work had a happy hour, and it wasn't really optional so I went and had one drink and hurried home to lace up my sneakers. I'm a super light weight, and honestly I was a bit buzzed when I was out there storming the sidewalks. The last time I decided to have a drink before working out was many years ago when I thought a nice margarita was a superb idea...and then I jumped on a treadmill and almost killed myself. This time (older and wiser of course) I decided that I could probably run in a somewhat straight line, and you know what? I am pretty sure that my cocktail numbed all the pain, I felt Great and I could have run more than my designated miles but I wanted to get home to see Abe who just arrived home from London. I was hoping he remembered to pick up some Cadbury chocolates but he forgot : ( and of course it's pretty much all I thought about during my run other than "wow I feel great!"

The Tortoise

I've been training for my half marathon, and I'm only on week three of the my training program: Hal Higdon's. Some days I look at what I have to do and think: Does he think I have one leg? He really doesn't ask that much out of you, I mean it's somewhat open to interpretation. Some days I give him more than he asked for, and some days I skip pieces that I find stupid. I'm not sure he would appreciate me calling parts of his program stupid, but it happened. My favorite part about running is that I like the way my body feels when I'm all done, you know like a floppy bunny rabbit. My least favorite part about running is that I swear it makes me extra hungry but not for healthy things. My body keeps telling me to eat things like combos, chips, pizza, bagels, soda, beer, buffalo wings slathered in blue cheese dressing, popcorn with 8 ounces of melted butter on top, whatever. I've been doing a good job controlling it because you can't closet eat when you have a spouse in an apartment with 2 rooms, but mentally i'm caressing an Italian sub from Angelinas with everything on it, extra pickles, and toasted, and whispering really inappropriate things. my workout buddy tells me she rarely thinks about food when she's running a lot, so this apparently is my own weird thing. But anyways, I was talking about running and not my food fantasies. Now I just have to figure out how to run faster...

Slushie No!

As a followup to my previous post I would just like to say that I wish I hadn't drank that stupid slurpie. I don't feel well now and I don't think I will ever have another one!

711 slushie

Behold my first slushie from 711! Its the mountain dew flavor and it was spine tingling sweet. I really enjoyed the light airy texture and the totally processed way it looked. My work frien gets them all the time and convinced me that I wouldn't die right away if I had one. I know all natural and organic is generally the way to go, but I just had to know what this was all about.

More on my bachelorette party

I just wanted to take a moment to reflect back on my bachelorette party. It was really fun, we went to Gypsy Rose in Boston for a little class on pole dancing. It was somwhat both mortifying (I'm shy) yet an outstanding workout at the same time, I think we all enjoyed it, and if you're looking for something for a small group of girls to do then this is probably a good bet! You might want to have a drink or two first to loosen up, I think I would have done better with 2.5 beers in me.

We stayed at the Park Plaza, and later met some others out for dinner across the street and more drinks.
It was a really fun night and I'm excited to announce that all of us will be in another wedding together next year, just with a different bride (not my workout pal seen here). Luckily for her, she is now well schooled in how to work the pole and roll around on the ground in a sexy way! Because I'm sure in her profession it will come in very handy...

my stupid asian hair

Check out my wonderful Taylor Swift-like curly hair this morning! I'll admit, it looks fantastic. The real reason I styled my hair today was because my bangs are quite long and I can't really see unless i give them some curl to lift them out of my face. So anyways, my fringe is all swept and my hair all pretty and I step outside and maybe 3 raindrops hit my head. We're talking 3 of the most obese raindrops on the planet. 45 minutes later I got to work and this is what it looked like:

This looks like maybe it's an entirely different day. The hair is flat, lifeless and bland. Basically, like any other day out of the week except today I had spent 15 minutes curling it with the utmost care...and see how the bangs hang in my eye. I'm getting my "post-wedding chop" next week and I'm sort of losing my mind. Everyday seems to bring on a new hair challenge due to length and unruliness. I'm sorry if this disinterests you, but it's consuming my days right now!

Piperlime

I just wanted to share with you my new work appropriate patent leather mary janes from piperlime on sale for $29 and I also got a different style for $24 which are equally as work appropriate and cute. Check out their sale right now if you need new shoes. Free shipping too!

Spaceships in the pantry

We are city beings, we apparently like to live in apartments the size of dorm rooms and so we have to get really creative with our storage space. behold our pantry. yeah those are some amazing looking pots and pans right? they are wedding gifts from our best man, and they seem to be hanging in our closet... not to mention the bizarre way the paper towels are stacked to the left. These were both abe's brilliant ideas. I'm not so sure the paper towel structure was very smart, but the pots and pans were really space saving. I should probably mention that we totally emptied the pantry and re-stacked everything and were still unable to fit all our shiny new small appliances in there on the shelves, so after a few nuclear meltdowns this was our solution. I had given up all hope, i was prepared to store the rice cooker and dutch oven in the guest room for the rest of eternity but you know this just worked better than that.

Abe actually bent wire hangers in a way so the body of the pots could hang along with their tops. at first, I thought it was completely too strange to have guests see but after about 30 seconds I realized that whatever makes all our stuff fit in the closet gets an A+ from me. so if you are suffering from lack of pantry space and need a way to totally impress your dinner guests, might I suggest our UFO style of storage...

Kimball Farm

This is a bit of a scary photo, but my dad took me and my brother out for ice cream tonight after our sunday roast. As a kid, I spent a lot of time with my dad going out for ice cream (or sherbert in my case) but I haven't been back to this particular ice cream stand in almost 10 years. Kimball Farm used to just be an ice cream stand, but now it's more of a family entertainment place: ice cream, bumper cars, mini golf, driving range, pitch and putt, and grilled and fried food stand. It was so crazy tonight that people were using three full parking lots when I only remember there being one back when I had hair down to my bottom and wore it in pigtails. Don't let the color of my sherbert cone fool you, they don't use food coloring in their ice cream treats (so they say) and it's actually orange sherbert and when I started eating it the cone was 3x as big. I almost didn't think that I would be able to finish it, but I am ashamed to say that I did. I out-ate both my dad and my brother, and it was one of those moments where i thought to myself: this doesn't seem normal does it...

the half blood prince

I just saw Harry Potter, and I really want everyone else to see it so we can talk about it : )

I decided to re-read the book to clarify a few things, but I won't give anything up on it!

say hello to my yacht

On Friday, our friend who owns a boat took us out around the Boston Harbor. We started at the Barking Crab and walked down a little ramp and onto his boat which was parked there, you know just like a little boat parking lot outside of a bar. It was both the super cuteness and like testosterone dudely awesome. I'm finding out a lot of new things about myself this year: 1. i love farms and farm animals, 2. i don't actually have a problem holding a gun, 3. i suddenly love the color pink, and 4. i loooooove boats. I'll admit that I have been nervous on boats in the past, but those days seem to be behind me now. In fact, I didn't even wear a life jacket this time! Also, our friend took us to his work to see where he builds boats on the harbor. Boat building is a process that never even crossed my mind before. His friends kept pointing at things and explaining each step of their custom made million dollar boats, and yeah it was interesting and all, but the whole time all I could do was think to myself, "so how can I save my pennies up to buy one of these things??" I can't wait for the day where we can name a boat! That's when I know we've made it.

Adventures in name changing

I've been home from our honeymoon for about 2 full weeks now, and I Really wanted to change my name asap. I used www.missnowmrs.com to assist with the paperwork, which was pretty awesome, but nothing can take away the bull of waiting in lines and waiting for new cards in the mail. These are my painful steps to a new last name:

My first stop was the bank. We sat there in Bank of America for 30 minutes while they clicked here and there and changed my name on the account for me and made a copy of our marriage license. 30 minutes is too long especially since they called me later and needed more information from me, I don’t think they really had their stuff together that day.

Next day: RMV, Social Security office, and passport. This was the more painful day! I had to go to a full service RMV, which excluded the one closest to my house, so I drove to a town that I’m unfamiliar with and got in there 30 minutes after it opened and what was the wait time? 2 hours people. I sat there and read a book and wished for coffee, but nothing makes the line go any faster. I took a new photo, and tried to fit my maiden name in as my middle name but it didn’t fit so…which I was actually really disappointed about, a middle name should be however many characters that I choose right? I wasn’t happy to feel restricted there. The social security office took all of 5 minutes, and then luckily I found a place that took passport photos right next door.

Beyond those important things I also needed to get a new credit card, AAA, Progressive card, utility bills, voicemail, financial things, IRS, car registration, email signature, work badge, cell phone bill, gym card, etc etc. I’m still waiting on a lot of little things, but even if I had prepared myself for all this, there’s nothing that would make it go any faster! I totally recommend the Miss Now Mrs service. It organizes the paperwork that you need and it auto-fills it, and then you just print it out and take it with you or mail it. It was a little confusing at first, but not as confusing as trying to find the right paperwork on my own…like on the IRS website, omg that was beyond my realms of understanding!

Congrats everyone!

Oh my god, they're so good looking!
We went to a beautiful wedding over the weekend. It was the wedding of J, she actually introduced myself to Abe, which is what led to us living happily ever after. We had a fantastic time! The wedding was in Gloucester, which is one of my favorite places in MA. Just being by the ocean is pure bliss for me. I don't even have to be in it, I just have to see it.

It was one of those weddings where we really danced all night long and kept the bar tender working hard. Abe's dancing was fantastic. I look like a pointy chinned alien here...

On Sunday we went to a 1st birthday party! Little kid toys are so Effing cute. We bought our little friend K a pully wooden elephant, and an organic cotton elephant of course. I am pretty sure he loved them because what kind of kiddo wouldn't? He was the life of the party and he loves everyone and everything, which is the opposite of any little kid that i've ever seen before.

We had such a busy weekend that I never even got to the grocery store and that is one of the domestic tasks that I Really enjoy doing every weekend. There is just something about meal planning and price comparison that drives me wild...

Tremont 647

Tremont 647 - 6th Annual Grilling Social
Me and the girls went to check this out last night in the south end. Tickets were $40 and included two Harpoon beers and lots of food samples. My favorite was the halibut with some kind of fresh salsa on top of refried beans, sitting on a chick pea tortilla chip. Although the pork belly on fig jam with toast was excellent as well! I love pork belly, but I told my friends it was just pork so they wouldn't get scared away. There were also sliders, lamb skewers, buffalo, swordfish, marinated salmon, s'more brownies, red velvet cupcakes, and cherry bar things. Overall, there was a serious amount of food and I ate everything but the swordfish and salmon. I did regret the amount of food that I ate though, or the combination, it was like a ridiculous amount of different flavors swirling around in my belly after that. I would go back again next year, it's well worth the $40, and it's a fun time!

my entourage is cooler than that

something spectacular happened last night. we sat down to watch the season premiere of Entourage on HBO, and 10 minutes into it we both agreed that it totally sucks now and we can cancel HBO saving us $50/month. we both love watching tv, and the only reason we had HBO was for Entourage, which abe used to love, but it's lost it's lustre and i really hate how much we over-pay for cable. i had some other shows i liked on HBO, but i'm totally ok with watching them from Netflix. when it comes to saving money, we aren't exactly awesome at it, but we're starting to get a little bit better! i think it's important to spend money on something that we believe in, and not to waste it on something we don't feel great about. we had a crazy-busy weekend with a wedding and two birthday parties, and i have a bunch of photos on my camera to download, so more to come on that including a fantastic cake from Konditer Meister : )

The Lemon

Jenna: that guy wanted to buy you a drink!
Liz Lemon: Really?? but i already have a drink, do you think he'd buy me mozzarella sticks?
---
guys, i am so lucky i was in my own house and not like on a sold out airplane because i just laughed so loud! i've been out of the dating game for a while, but in all honesty an appetizer would be a much faster way to score with me than a measly drink. this is probably why abe orders me an appetizer every time we dine out! some might think that a cocktail is enough to bring some attention, but it does not compare to some melty yet crispy cheese.

you fat cow

OMG i really miss paradise! you would think that every day back at the office would be easier, but actually it's been quite the opposite. every day is actually a little bit harder, a little bit more trying on my patience. i think abe feels the same way. however, i've started training for my half marathon and it's going well so far, and it's good to get outside and burn away some of the daily horrors. oh guess what, someone at work talked me into joining a biggest loser team. there's like 4 teams and we don't really know what we're doing, but she called me and begged me and used her cutest little happy voice...and i was like: damn woman, are you telling me that i'm fat? she promised that there wouldn't be any weigh ins. so really...i don't think the name of the contest is too accurate. i think it's actually like: "get a little bit healthier if you feel like it challenge". i saw the list of teams and for some reason, it's the smallest and most active and fit people, like the people who don't have muffin tops and drink water from nalgene bottles all day. figures right?

Honeymoon: Koal Keel

This place was fantastic!! The ambiance, the food, the everything. They have a tandoori chef so you can order basic Caribbean cuisine or tandoori, and for the first time ever i had some tandoori shrimp. It was Amazing! Slightly spicy, full of flavor, excellent meal. We also shared some dumplings that were equally as delicious.
After our fantastic meal we got a tour of the estate which is an old rum plantation, which also included an extensive wine cellar. It was pretty interesting, just a nice touch really. Also, they offer a free shuttle to pickup and drop off vacationers. This part was wonderful, we saved about $60 on that since taxis are beyond expensive in Anguilla. I would totally suggest this place.
Food = A+
Ambiance = A+

Book Reviews:

I read a lot of books on my honeymoon. my brain was really aching for some exercise, and so I'll share with you my thoughts:

The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
This book got a lot of hype for being beautiful. I thought that the story lines were really deep and involved, and I felt that the character development was right on. I don't like when I read a book and feel that i can't identify who i'm reading about. I just want to say that it was perhaps over hyped. The writing is fantastic and the story is compassionate, however, I may not have been in the right mind set for this. It might have been too emotional for me, and I don't think that I was truly able to appreciate it the way a more sensitive person might.
Panda's Book Score = B

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
I honestly didn't think that I would like this book. I thought the writing was going to be mediocre and the story was going to be too predictable, but you know the writing was better than mediocre and it was not predictable at all. I actually enjoyed this book, and at the end I did feel a little sad. I like the way the chapters are divided so that you see the same story from each character's point of view as it's unfolding. This was a nice vacation book!
Panda's Book Score = A-

A Wolf at the Table by Augusten Burroughs
I really liked Running with Scissors and Dry and I really didn't like this memoir. I think he's an excellent writer, and he's had a really tremendous life with many obstacles to overcome. I just want to ask him when he's going to be done complaining. I'm ready for him to write a book about the now. We know you had a crazy family, and later became an alcoholic, am I surprised that you now have daddy issues? no, not really. I was not impressed.
Panda's Book Score = D
but i'll play him a tiny violin for being the biggest complainer ever.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I bought this book on a whim at Borders, and the reason I was drawn to it was because there is a quote on the front from Stephanie Meyer. I figured if she enjoyed it, then I might too. I LOVED it. It's sci-fi/fantasy and young adult, and it's a series of three books with this one being the first. The style of the book is similar to Twilight and Harry Potter, there are demons and things and first loves. It's very young adult, sometimes the author will write how we should interpret comments and glances...you know in case you didn't know. Overall, it's a fun read and after I finished it in Anguilla I went online and ordered the other two books to be sent to my place so they'd be ready for me when I arrived.
Panda's Book Score = A

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
This is book II in the series of III, and it was almost as good at book I. The story was more exciting, but I really dislike when you read a second book in a series they recap like everything from the first book. So you find yourself being like: yeah i know this already come on, skip that. I know they have to do it, but I just don't enjoy it. If you liked book I, you'll like book II. I'll leave it at that.
Panda's Book Score = A-

Happy 4th of July!

On the 3rd, the boys wanted to go have some raw bar so we went to Legal's in harvard square. abe is infamous for ordering too much food, but i have Never seen a tower of seafood like this. three tiers of craziness!
For the 4th we went back to our friend's farm to play with the animals and...shoot some guns. i'd like to say i'm kidding, but i'm not. don't worry, they were just pellet guns and we were just shooting at cans in the far distance. it's probably scary either way, i mean it's still a weapon! at first i was pretty timid about it, but then it just seemed like a lot of fun and with no harm done.
Look at my Sarah Connor arm! yeah i know, it's only sort of sarah connor. i didn't actually hit anything, except maybe a fence. i mean the guns weren't as fun as the animals, but they were still pretty fun. sort of like duck hunt...

Honeymoon: Tasty's in Anguilla

Island breeze, you got that right! my hair looked very active the whole week, especially at night. so anyways, this is Tasty's, which was recommended to us by a couple of people for their really local flavor. i had lobster bisque with corn, and it was excellent, really really mouthwatering excellent. my main entree was grilled vegetables on pasta. it was a rather unorthodox choice being on an island, and not ordering seafood, but i was really craving noodles. i'm not sure that this dish was something that worked. the sauce was great, the grilled veggies were great, but together...something just wasn't really working well. i wouldn't order it again. abe got seafood chowder for his starter, and he enjoyed it, although didn't rave over it. for his main entree he had something that is escaping my memory because it was just so/so. he was disappointed with his meal all around, and for me the lobster bisque was really their savior. for dessert was split a piece of key lime cheesecake. it was nothing to write home about, it was very limey. i know that people go here because the locals eat here, but we only saw other couples and families there on vacation, so i guess the locals don't eat dinner at 7:30pm. i wish i took notes during our stay in anguilla on the restaurants, i'm having a hard time remembering little details. Tasty's was moderate in price and nice and casual. as a reference point, the bisque was about $12, and the meal total was about $85 plus 15% service charge, and extra tip. would i recommend it to others? if you are looking for an inexpensive, casual styled meal then yes i would.

Honeymoon: Horseback Riding

Our second day in anguilla we went horseback riding on the beach. it was fun! i mean maybe not as exciting as hoped because a man and his son just pulled us along on the horses down the beach so i mean it's not like i had to do anything besides hold on. my horse was so cute though! i think we had a connection she might have loved me back, i'm not sure though. later we found out that if we had scheduled it later in the day around dusk, we would have been able to take the horses into the water during the sunset. i wish we had done that, but either way, it was a good time and i'd suggest it to anyone.

Honeymoon: Island Boat Tour

The first full day of our honeymoon we went on an island boat tour around anguilla and we stopped at three different places to snorkel along the reefs. i was really excited and a little bit nervous because as a child i had a fear of open water. the areas we snorkeled in were really calm, crystal clear, and nothing to be afraid of. the water was only about 10-15 feet deep in most places we were due to all the coral.

Excuse the bum in the background! we were on a boat with two other couples who were super nice. it's funny, i think i may have become a nicer person after a week in anguilla... that is yet to be determined though.
This was my favorite part of our honeymoon, the boat was just so fun, and the ocean was so nice. i decided that we really need a boat now, you know because buying a boat before a house makes so much sense. someday we'll have one!
