Rebate

a few weeks ago i marched into verizon wireless and had enough with my broken blackberry pearl.  of course i was too late and missed my warranty, whatever.  i decided to just get a better one.  this better one is the full sized pink blackberry, it's totally awesome by the way.  the phone was $175, but had a $75 mail-in rebate which to me sounded just fine since i use it nonstop.  so i get the phone and waited for my rebate to come in the mail.  today it arrived, but was it a check?  was it a credit to my account?  no, it was a verizon visa debit card for $75.  wtf?  a debit card actually isn't the same as cash.  this bothers me because A. they never told me it would be a in that form, and B. what if i wanted cash back?  this is what happens when you go to the ghetto verizon in downtown crossing.  i will never go back.
