i'd love to say that i'm laid back and super-cool and nothing bothers me because i'm like one of those free spirits that just goes with the breeze. however, i'm very much not a free spirit and most things in life, even minor, tend to give me some form of anxiety. right now i'm thinking about our honeymoon. we have no flipping idea where we want to go. i do know i don't want: mexico, carribean, or hawaii. so i've decided that abe would be choosing the location and making the travel arrangements. my only requests are that we get to stay in two different places and that there is a beautiful beach. so like a santorini and french riviera combo, or bora bora and tahiti combo, or something like that. there's a lot of really beautiful places in the world, i just wish i had more time off and more money. there's also a lot of little things to think about. i plan on laying on the beach and relaxing with a fruity drink for most of the day, but i'd also like to have the options for some activities and really great food. i want to come home with gorgeous pictures, and a great tan, and a souvenir or 3. but i don't want to feel like there's tons of tourists everywhere and they're invading my romantic honeymoon. - not that i'm romantic. it's a very delicate balance where relaxtion needs to meet sights and activities. it was like perfect in phuket where we pretty much were stranded at our villa, but we could find our way to other beaches and rent a boat and get away to snorkle when we wanted to, but it was still secluded enough to feel like a very private vacation. too much seclusion = bad. i love abe, but if i need to spend 24 hours a day alone with him in some tiki hut for 10 days, we will run out of things to do and talk about there's no doubt about that. i don't think we're any closer to finding our dream destination but we do want to book it this summer, so the clock is ticking for this part of the wedding and it's the most important part!

First lobsters
Chauncy Creek in Kittery Point, Maine. after some outlet shopping in kittery we went to this lobster shack for our first lobsters of the season. this place was awesome. it was a byob, bring anything you want, sit at a picnic table in the sun on a pier and order a lobster type place. this also happens to be the first place that abe experienced a lobster as a child. he's standing next to a bell (horrible picture on my part) that he tried to ring as a kid. the sign says: ring this bell to buy a round for everyone. or something to that extent.

Threadless
Threadlessif you are like me and you really love art, and you love original designs, but you just can't afford to go out and spend thousands of dollars on it. well, i have a solution for us. it's threadless. they not only print t-shirts, but they are now doing original prints of their submitted t-shirt designs. yes they're done on paper and screen printed, but they only screen print about 250 of each one, so actually it's like having an original right? and for only $35. abe and i spent more than that on chinese food for dinner last night. you should check it out if you have time.
it's the weekend baby

MoMa update

it's britney bitch

I'm a survivor who shops

and the abercrombie and fitch tube tops. normally i hate tube tops, i think they're like totally not cool if your chest is as flat as mine, they work best if you're like the perfect boob size and aren't too forgiving if you're too big or too small:

super cute right? am i past this, am i too old to wear AF? i think i ask that everytime i see something cute there. but want to know a secret? my tank top is from AF that i'm wearing to work right this moment with a little cardigan : )

Omg.
Me:
Bob's Clam Hut
Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier
Warren's Lobster House
Abe:
Omg. That Chauncey Creek – I’m like 99% certain that is where my parents took me for my first lobster.
Me:
Omg?
Abe:
I think that was worthy of an omg.
It was a total flashback to my childhood. You know how I remember the oddest thing? Well that place used to have this gangway that you had to walk down… and then on the boat/picnic table area was a bell with a sign that read “whoever rings the bells buys a round for all”. I walked up to it and was about to ring the bell when michelle yelled at me.
Engagement Pictures and such
however, i am thinking about hiring a wedding planner. not one of those like every detail type ones, but maybe just to help me organize the vendors and give me some concept ideas because i think that's what i'm already having the most trouble with. i like a lot of things, i just want everything to kind of flow and go together and right now in my head it's just a jumbled mess. but i don't know, it's just a thought.

Pinkberry found
we tried to find a pinkberry for hours. they're everywhere in the city, but for some reason where ever we walked we just couldn't bump into one. so after conferring with natasha's iphone probably 6 times we finally found our pinkberry!
NYC!
we went to new york for the Sex and the City Tour, and it was awesome, totally awesome. our first stop was at the pleasure chest where charlotte gets her rabbit. it was really small though so i didn't really stay in there too long. each stop was about 5-10 minutes, and on the bus our tour guide told us little facts, there was some trivia, and they showed clips from the show.

First celeb sighting ever.
No makeup. Crazy hair. Definitely her.

Scallops!
check out this fantastic meal that abe made for dinner. it's scallops with breadcrumbs, rice pilaf, and broccoli. seems simple, but this is the first time i've ever had scallops made at home. and i'm totally guilty of making the same meals in 2 week rotations. this was a really welcome change for my taste buds.

Beam Joyfully Bitches
Here's Rachel's winning, 27-word entry about being her sister's Maid of Honor:
As my sister's MOH, I: designed invitations, created innumerable organizational spreadsheets, baked over a thousand cookies and a four tiered cake from scratch, assembled centerpieces, beamed joyfully."
Yeah i'm going to expect that from everyone : )

crazy bus people
the bus passes by, for lots of unknown reasons i'm sure.
the lady loses her shit.
"what the hell do they think they're doing? i should have gotten that bus number, i hate when people do this shit to me. Were we not clear, why didn't it stop?! i thought it was real obvious we were standing here waiting for the bus. Now i'm going to be late! this is bullshit, what was that bus number....etc." imagine all this in 30 mph winds blowing her big crazy frizz hair everywhere like beatrix lastrange in harry potter.
i was just like lady, i don't even care. i walked away to go to the davis t-station as she was still rambling on to me like i really did care. sure, if i were running late and the bus just passed me by i'd probably be pretty pissed. but i wouldn't go rambling on to a total stranger about it. she looked totally nuts while freaking out as i just stood there looking at her totally blankly.

Doctor Drama
i don't have a very great track record with doctors actually. i went to a primary care in high school and she quit to be a stay at home mom after 2 visits. i got into the city and found a doctor at a great hospital who had residents see her patients, which was totally fine, but the first resident i had was a total space shot. she would literally forget what i just said 2 minutes earlier and ask me the same questions, And she snacked on peanut butter and crackers during an appointment. like suddenly she would pull out a little baggie from her coat pocket and eat three crackers really quickly, but it was still strange like someone was starving her to death and she was trying to sneak in a meal. but i was like: that's ok, she's asian and hungry, i'm sure she's smart enough to be here. later, she disappeared and another resident replaced her (who is great). i saw a podiatrist last year to take care of an ugly wart situation, but instead of fixing it, he "examined" my feet and then said: you have really nice feet...or something to that end. which of course totally weirded me out so that i let out a totally noticeably nervous forced laugh. i saw him two more times and that was it. and let me tell you, my copay for specialist visits is 50 freakin dollars, so i'm not about to waste my hard earned cash on someone who i feel is not giving me my money's worth.
my brother had an even more disturbing experience with a doctor. i doubt he reads my blog so i'll tell about it. wait no...i shouldn't. anyways, on his first visit with a new primary care as opposed to a pediatrician, he had a really rude awakening and will now only be going to see the doctor if he's unconscious.

Rude comes with a copay
just because you're a doctor, does that mean you have the right to correct people - especially patients and make them feel stupid? No. i had an appointment today at an un-named hospital and i could Not believe how rude my doctor was. he corrected me atleast 4 or 5 times during our meeting. and i guess he was kind of right, but i've never been corrected so many times in one hour by a total stranger.me: a new condo complex in cambridge new flooring and central air.
him: ok, i'm going to stop you. a condo isn't a word that defines the building. so is it an apartment or a house?
me: (oh my god how rude).

Power Suits
I need a suit. all the ones i'm looking at are in about the same price range for pants and jacket: $300-$500, i'd like to spend on the lower tier of that. any suggestions? basically i need to go to the stores and try them on, but skipping over the poorly made ones would be nice. i'm not a patient person.

Fashionista in the building
i had a great night last night. Gaslight was really cute, but it's definately on the smaller side so groups of 2-3 are best and it's a little higher class than i had imagined. i mean of course we fit right in, but you know what i mean i'm sure....this is not just any after work joint. it's totally for hip people, people with money, or hip people on hot dates.the fashion show wasn't really a show so much as a display. there were just models walking around in the fall collection dresses and there was a wine, beer, and vodka open bar which was nice. maybe i should have tipped the bartenders....because now i'm realizing that i didn't. the dresses were really nice, but i don't think they were made for my body type though, which is probably good because they are Not cheap. i couldn't believe how many people showed up though considering nothing was actually for sale and there wasn't actually a catwalk for the models. natasha is on Newbrahmin!! two fashion bloggers came over and took her picture because they could not get over her awesome outfit. She's actually listed as a "Party goer"!!
Rocca was awesome. i totally recommend this place to everyone, it's in the south end on Harrison Ave. i had the baked veal and rigatoni, but i really should have tried an appetizer or something too. the place was open and modern with plenty of seating so you're not all on top of everyone else's dates. great service, excellent food, i'd give this place a high mark if i were the phantom. i'd totally go back.

Bright Shirt, big night
i'm wearing the brightest yellow shirt ever to work today. it just keeps getting brighter i think, people are stopping to stare, but generally i get some kind of awkward comment out of it: nice shirt! that's pretty. i took a picture but it really brought no justice to the florescent glow.
ladies and gentlemen, tonight i am going out on the town! something i rarely do. Gaslight for cocktails, a Myre fashion show, and Rocca for dinner. they're the new hotspots of course. i felt really awful the other day when someone was asking me what the new up and coming places were, and i was like i have no idea...and then this other dude rattled off like 8 that he had actually been to multiple times and that i had actually heard of but never set foot in. i'm totally losing my young and hip - vibe! so then to make things even worse, the question arises - what do you wear to a fashion show? and of course if you were going to a marc jacobs show you would Only wear marc. but if you're going to a fashion show of someone who has a name but not a big one, what do you wear? i think i have the answer: tight black pants, heels, and a bright yellow muu mu. this is not fashion forward, this is not suggested for the normal person, but for someone who barely ever leaves the house this option became a reasonable one. i wish i brought my camera.
