moving takes ages...

the tv stand is complete and it fits perfectly and the tv fits perfectly on it, thank god. you can even see tyra interviewing john edwards on the screen. the couch made it up the back deck in one piece and we didn't even have to assemble any of its parts, but we do need to break it in a little bit, it's much firmer than it was in the store. but i'm sure with the amount we sit on the couch that it won't take too long.

more moving hell

What a frustrating day. we spent the entire day waiting and waiting and waiting for furniture deliveries. i woke up, got breakfast, ate, and waited. 4 hours later boston interiors showed up, and the long dresser wouldn't fit into our place. so we're like fing f. so we tell them to take it back and we'll arrange something else. and then i went out and got lunch and came back and ate, and then waited and waited for ikea to come with our couch and tv stand. they came and the couch wouldn't fit. luckily for us, the delivery guys were willing to hoist it up the back deck for $100. so instead of our couch being a killer deal at $350 it was only a sort of killer deal for $450. whatever, we're just so happy that we're done waiting and we finally have somewhere to sit. abe is currently assembling the tv stand, things are looking like they're going relatively smoothly. we really need to pack for our cruise which we are leaving for at 5:330 tomorrow morning. i've been doing laundry nonstop all day long, but now we need to go back to yuri's to get our suitcase. never ending tasks! i cannot wait to jet off and pretend like there isn't this giant mess waiting for me back here.

one lamp broken

so i take a few things back: first off, we did break one lamp : ( but it's ok, it was just ikea. my arms hurt so much today i feel like i can barely type. we watched The Kingdom last night on our new tv, it was really intense. like you need to pay attention, and it's no date movie.

we have free internet : )

Moving Hell

we moved! it was horrible. abe hurt his back yesterday prepping for the big day, but luckily we were able to recruit scotty to help us since he had the day off. the boxes were all large and heavy. we had way more stuff that we thought loading up our moving truck and my car to the brim. there were way too many stairs involved, and it was freezing outside. did we make it? yes. did we break anything? no. so i guess all in all it was a success. i'm totally exhausted, i feel like i've been lifting boxes for days. i love my new place though, it's way bigger than i remember with way more closet space. in fact we have so much that we're probably going to block one off and not even use it. i did a load of laundry in our new washer and dryer in the bathroom with good results, and now we just need to get rid of all the boxes and mess that came with unpacking. but really, we can't even be bothered, it's too painful of a thought. so now we're going to eat chinese food on the floor since all our furniture is arriving tomorrow. hopefully that goes smoothly....

whoa

i'm at whole foods and my phone rings, i'm really flustered so i just see it's megan and i wait for the voicemail. she tells me that she heard heath ledger died. and i'm like no fing way. so i come home, and i totally forget about it because i figure that it was just a rumor or something. so i make and eat my tacos for dinner, and i'm sitting here pouting over a lamp that i can't afford and tmz pops up and holy crap, heath ledger actually died. he's no more. he's moved on. it's like he was on gawker two days ago walking around dressed completely ridiculously, and today, tmz has RIP all over. it's some crazy stuff.

almost a birthday girl

my birthday is in 8 days. in 8 days i will leave the relm of 25 and under and assume the position of 26 and older. i looooooooove birthdays. i think they're the greatest things ever. and i also really love getting gifts. i asked my brother for a fancy pants wedding book called Fete, and i asked my mom for pearl drop earrings, and abe is taking me on a cruise. what more could a girl ask for?

How Rude!

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?sku=22992139&mcat=148207&cid=288153&search_params=s+5-p+7-c+288153-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

oh my god. Tiffany knocked off Cartier. so i have the Original interlocking circle necklace by cartier, which is white gold and certainly Not cheap. this thing should be insured. and then tiffanys comes out and shamelessly creates the same exact necklace, almost a replica of a timeless classic piece, and sells it in silver for $150. are they kidding!! this makes me so mad.

"A timeless Tiffany favorite. Interlocking circles pendant in sterling silver. Size small, on a 16" chain."

this is a new piece, i've never seen it before otherwise i would have freaked out much earlier.

So Low Ruffle Pants

my newest obsession:
http://www.solowstyle.com/shopping/collections/STS/j3364.html
i really feel like i deserve these workout pants. especially after how hard i've been working at the gym. i'll admit it, i just saw it on mindy kalig's blog, However, i saw these 1 year ago on cameron diaz and jessica biel and wanted them then too. i just want them. who wouldn't want rufflely ass pants? i would wear them every saturday on bike rides and while watering my tomato plants.

tummy aching

so i've had a stomach ache for 2 1/2 days now. i only worry about this because i'm suppose to move on thursday and go on a cruise on saturday. so of course now my mind is racing...do i have appendicitis? we'll just have to wait and see.

would you like a hand....mixer?

i just got back from a shopping spree. a shopping spree felt round the world. i just got 99% of everything abe and i will need in our new place. i feel like an Fing rock star. the kind of rock star that gets flashed on a daily basis. because not only did i get all this shopping done, i got it all done in the state that knows no sales tax: NH. target, linens n things, and macys have never felt so deprived of merchandise as they do today. i took my mom along for the ride for opinions and moral support, she was also nice enough to manage pushing the cart for me which was a real treat. i hate pushing that stupid thing. things that were annoying though: spending money on shitty things like a vacuum cleaner and ironing board. things you don't really want or care for, but they're actually pretty expensive. but then again, it felt really nice to be able to buy things that you actually picked out yourself. instead of inhereting crap, or using things given to me, or buying things because they're super cheap and i just need them. no no, i bought things for the long term and i sat and looked at 15 different can openers and chose the one i felt would be the best for me.

Wedding Cakes Galore!

i just got the Martha Stewart Wedding Cakes book from Amazon. it's simply amazing. these cakes are perfection. the book has step by step details on how to make all of them, but obviously, i will not even attempt to do such a thing. i just want to hand a picture to the baker and ask that they make me a cake (and then give us a free sheet cake). they're gorgeous though, like almost too pretty to eat. i cannot wait to go taste testing. my mouth is watering right now just thinking about the love.

Juno

becca and i saw juno tonight. ok, we were wondering why it was so strange at the beginning when the kids were using this really bizarre "my so called life" kind of language. like it was so hip that it was beyond understanding. and then suddenly we saw that it was taking place in minnesota, and i was like: ah yes. now it all makes sense and i could follow the rest of the movie comfortabley. i really enjoyed it. the girl was funny most of the time, sometimes she was a little too...over the top. it was almost royal tennebaumish. i'd see it again i think, i enjoyed the humor.

McCain Blogette

so i saw a piece on the today show about the presidential candidate's offspring being on the road with them, doing god knows what, styling? posing for pictures?

It's john mccain's mega blonde daughter blogging on the road. it's actually kind of cute, in a "you do not belong anywhere near politics young lady, in fact you're making politics look a little dirty in your leopard coat" kind of way.

however, these romneys seem to turn blogging into naptime. it's way too family oriented in the way that makes you want to poke your own eyes out.
Not that i plan on voting for either one of these candidates, however i do appreciate a really great and interestingly fun blog.

Can katie even run?

i know that there's this crazy media obsession with katie holmes being a robot, being a stepford wife, or even being an alien flown down by the creator of scientology himself. however, i have never seen such strange obsessing as this:

Ikea, the end.

We went back to Ikea tonight and bought a couch and a tv stand!! now all our big furniture purchases are over. and seriously, the couch is really comfy and it was only $350!! Amazing, just amazing. and while we were there, i was so hungry that i couldn't keep up walking with abe. so we stopped for a snack of swedish meatballs and a scoop of mashed potatos. they were really good. i think every time i go to ikea from now on i'll stop for a swedish snack. it was like a full on cafeteria full of goodies like mac and cheese and french fries and greek salad and chicken fingers, etc. also they have breakfast for 99 cents. abe wants to go there for brunch someday.

Natalie Portman's Shoes!

Vegan shoes designed by miss natalie portman herself:
http://www.tecasan.com/Content.aspx?Page=Designer_info&Designer=natalie

pricey. way pricey. but if you Love mary janes, then you will also love these.

Heinous hair

ok, this is actually megan's fault that i'm even thinking about britney spears right now. so she shaved her head in early feb of last year. so her hair has been growing (if it grows the same as everyone else's), an average of 1/2 inch per month. so her hair should have grown 6 inches by now, more probably. my question is....What the fuck is she still wearing nasty hair extentions with the weave showing? her hair should be grown out by now atleast paris hilton's length. i mean i know the answer is simple: she's mentally incapable of thinking like a normal person. but aren't extentions like way more work than real hair?

bottoms optional

my cruise is only 10 painfully long days away, and i'm in full prep mode. i bought a new swim suit and i think it's totally cute, and it will be arriving tomorrow i think because i actually ordered it a few days ago. don't worry, it does have bottoms ($29)! and i got a new swim suit cover up at Target for only $14.99, what a fantastic deal. i was going to order abe a swim suit too, actually i did, but it said it wouldn't get here till feb.15, so i was like: F that. i'm going to swing into a big target on saturday anyways, so i'll see if the same one is there. i don't think abe is much of an american eagle kind of dude.

bad news for target fans. issac mizrahi has left the building for good being replaced by jonathan saunders. he's british and he really really likes dresses with colorblock print, that's basically all i know about him. i love target.

a test for anyone who drives

http://roadragers.com/test/index.htm

i just took this little test. seems i have little to no road rage, am a courteous driver, but am somewhat aggressive. i agree with the above.

American Idol, part I

i did it. i watched american idol last night. i hate american idol, but i really love it at the same time. the initial auditions are the best part. my favorite guy sang a song about how he stalked paula, and i think she got really scared, but randy was just laughing so hard the whole time pretending not to be highly amused. simon was legit not amused. he sang, "if she was a dog, i would walk her. if she was a bathtub i would caulk her. if she was on law and order, i would peter faulk her. but right now, i'll just stalk her." oh my god, so funny!! he didn't make it to hollywood needless to say. i'm pretty sure he got escorted off the property by security. i'm sure it was all in good fun though, and he just wanted to get on tv because why would anyone want to stalk paula abdul. and this morning i was thinking about it in the shower....why the fuck is she a judge anyways?? was she not a one hit wonder? Cold Hearted Snake? that's the only paula song that i know. i know she's a dancer, former laker girl, and a choreographer, but vocally....she was freaking britney spears. maybe she's just a judge because people really think it's just over the top funny to see how loopy and crazy she gets and like they just want to see what she'll say next. i really do wonder what kind of drugs she's on. i heard a crazy rumor that she seriously sleeps like 1 hour per night, and she's gone through hundreds of personal assistants, and she sobs for no reason. that sounds like a britney issue to me. but atleast they can get her camera ready in the morning.

Let's Smurf

it is the 50th anniversary of the smurfs. believe it or not, they're going to come out with a smurfs movie later this year. although, i'm not really sure that culture will translate into 2008 very well. i mean, why would kids want to watch sqeaky clean blue creatures when they could be watching spongebob. i probably wouldn't go see the movie in the theaters, but i do remember really loving that show along with: care bears, rainbow brite, my little pony, the snorks, and fraggle rock.

What the F.

This was my saturday night. things to note: i had only 2 beers this evening. dave had two beers that moment.

abe is _______.

weekend update

so i'm still really annoyed. but i'm trying focus on the good things that happened this weekend and trying to be more patient with the world for just 2 more weeks.

All my furniture was removed from my room! it took only 10-15 minutes and it was pretty painless. it cost us $200 though. that was the only downside, but i can also understand that these kids came into the city to remove my junk. abe and i just sat there and watched them. i mean that's not so bad, none of our muscles got strained and we were free to spend our day doing other things.

i got to have chicken and broccoli. it's been my new favorite chinese food dish for a few weeks now. i heard miranda order it on sex and the city a while back, and ever since i've been craving it on a daily basis. and it was pretty good. and to think that my least favorite veggie as a child was broccoli.

i got to see natasha on saturday for the first time in a very long time. let me tell you, her hair looked great. her family was all really really nice too.

oh my gosh, i sold my loveseat and a bookshelf for $80 on craigslist. how totally awesome. it was like free money.

i have so many things on my to-do list, it's a little intimidating just because i'd like to get it all done before our cruise in 12 days.

ikea

My first trip to ikea!! it was pretty overwhelming just the sheer amount of stuff they have there. but i was actually pretty impressed. i never thought that it would be worth it to drive all the way over there. look what a cute duvet cover we got!! i'm totally in love with it. although, when i bought it, i thought the little tiny flowers were all red and not multicolored. oh well. i'll just ignore the other ones and concentrate on the reds, i mean it was only $29!. we're so much closer to having our new apt. furnished. just a couch, tv, and tv stand remain. i guess that sounds like a lot, but it's really not since that could really just be like one afternoon of shopping. we found a few couches we liked, we just haven't bought one yet.

Not my future dress

I Love this dress!! just love it. the only downside: it's jcrew. why is that a downside you ask? you can't try them on in stores and i'm thinking their tailoring isn't quite as good as the bridal tailors at bridal specialty shops.
Also another downside: it's no longer on the website!!

Shams.

who needs them? i think i do. i mean, we have those memory foam type pillows that kind of are contoured to your head so they're supposed to lay flat, and i believe shams are for standing up. i wonder about this bedding issue.... i wonder about strange things lately.

water wings and swimmies

random picture of the day. can you guess where?

ambien

so i took an ambien last night. i was like: my prayers have finally been answered! i thought i'd wake up this morning just as refreshed as the people do in the commercials. well, that's not what happened. i ate a late dinner 10pm, but it was just a bowl of soup, and then at 10:40ish i was finally in bed and took an ambien. then i layed in bed for what seemed to be hours. but i know it was only till around midnight and then i fell asleep only to be jolted awake at 7am due to noise or something, and then i went back to sleep. at 7:33 when my alarm went off....that was one of the worst moments in my life. i was beyond tired. i was so tired that my body hurt and my face felt like someone stepped on it. my eyes were swollen. i had to go into work late because i felt physically incapable of moving. i mean, once i did get up and moving i was totally fine and just feeling sleepy. next time, ambien needs to be taken before 10pm on a completely empty stomach. i'll remember that!!

can you even believe it?

i went out two nights in a row this weekend! friday night, was the celtics game and the improv and then Bricco. and saturday night we went to ned devine's for rachel brezel's 21st birthday party. actually, it was really tame, but all the girls came out for it and showed her a good time. doesn't everyone look super happy? this night did not bode well on my stomach, and in fact, i'm still tired. it was well worth it though, i had so much fun.

Also this weekend, abe and i bought a bedroom set. i know, like one major extreme to the next. but i think that's my life now. i have these moments of awesome domestic decorating happiness, and then later i decide it's time to go out with the girls for some dancing and beers - next time, no shots. spending my sunday being hungover is really no fun. we also bought really cute kitchen things from the martha stewart collection at macys. i got a cutting board shaped like a mouse!

something about a legacy..."three party"

half court premium seats at the celtics game: awesome. i never thought that i could really enjoy myself at a celtics game previous till today because 1. we used to really suck and nobody likes a losing team. 2. the place used to be 50% full, and that's no fun at all. 3. the celtics dancers used to be really distractingly trashy. but something has changed: we got pretty good. no we got better than good, we got great. it was really fun and really exciting, and there was a waiter to bring me beers whenever i fancied one. the only down side: no miller lite. i think that everyone, even the people in the $10 seats were really having a good time. good family fun.

new year update

i haven't blogged in a really long time, but not much is going on really. i'm almost done with His Dark Materials series: The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. they're really great books if you like things like harry potter and more imaginative and fantasy things. i'd give them an A- since they're a little confusing but at the same time they're really addicting. you just can't stop.

i'm going to my first celtics game in years tonight, and they just happen to be premium seats thanks to abe. he got them for my family for christmas and he's not even coming with us : ( it should be fun though. hopefully i won't get annoyed too quickly, but it's ok if i do, i'll just grab a beer or two, that usually seems to work. but not too many, i need to go to the gym tomorrow.

i quit smoking on Jan 2. it's going ok. i've been a little bit under the weather, but i don't think it has to do with nicotine. i am just really tired and have no energy, and am in no mood to socialize. this will pass soon i'm sure.

our cruise is in 22 days. and in only 20 days we can start moving our things to davis square. and in only 26 days i will be the ripe age of 26. and in 27 days, LOST begins! there's lots of things to look forward to this month.
